The Panerai 3646 was created at the request of the Royal Italian Navy. The first production examples were delivered at the end of the 1930's.

The present model has a sterile dial, leading to the assumption that it was created for German Navy Special Forces. It was offered for sale by Christie's in 2013.

The PAM 5218-201/A is the so-called 'Pre-Vendome' logo model. Although a tough sell when available from new, it has risen to be one of the holy grails for many Panerai collectors. It is estimated that a little under 700 were produced in this configuration, with an additional 200 being reworked into Slytech models.

The Panerai 5218-207/A was created in collaboration with Sylvester Stalone. It features a white dial with blue markings and the Slytech moniker. A little over 100 pieces were produced in total, with some 7 to 11 having the blue indexes.

One must note that the 'blue' Slytech Daylight is a controversial watch at best - many do not believe these were truly released by Panerai in the Pre-Vendome era, but rather that they were put together afterwards after first having been rejected by Stalone.

Although less rare then the version with blue numerals and hands, the 'regular' PAM 5218-207/A is nonetheless a very much sought-after watch.

The Panerai 6152-1 was introduced to provide a more robust alternative to the earlier 3646 wire lug models. It was available with either the Angelus or Rolex / Cortebert movement, and versions both with as well as without crown guard exist.

The ref. 6152-1 was made for the Italian navy and can be found either with or without the signature crown guard. Their dials can be signed with either Radiomir, Luminor or Marina Militare as the one pictured. Approx. 600 pieces were produced in total.

The present model was offered by Christie's in a 2013 auction.
